rockwell tech and or portal or other hd axles

well i guess this is pretty ballsy of me, seeing as how i have no major fab experience, or a place to put a truck like this, but if you know me, then you get that i can think better than i can fab being as i have no "real" tools. i know there are people on here trying to make large offroad trucks, not just one ton 44 rigs, and i guess kirby count's. i wasn't an active member for the exodus but i stopped by and lurked here and there and have no memories due to booze. i assume the guys i used to read from are probably on pirate or the like, but i would like to see something different than 1 tons. i know there were rock builds before, so post some tech if anyone newer has some:drunk:

Hey Dan, with no expensive tools you could run a leaf sprung rig like the old 6x6's. Just take the hangers and springs lol. They're about the same width as a chevy/ford leaf....

Except there are 50 springs in a pack!

^^^ or he could take 45 leaves out the pack.

Assuming, of course, you are correct, however highly unlikely, and there are actually 50 leaves in the pack.

Not sure on the leaf thickness but at 1/4" each that spring pack would be almost 13" tall. Im going to go with....probably not but possible I guess.

Okay, fifty leafs maaaaaaay have been a teeeny bit exaggerated. But there are a lot!

I could count when I get home today. Probably at least 10.

i used to read quads build thread way back when i just lurked around fte on occasion. i've read a lot in mags and online about rocks, but not as much about portals, planetaries, and some of the other hd stuff i've seen shoved under trucks. just thought i'd start a thread and see if anyone on here has anything like that, or are planning on building something with any of these axles in the near future. i know kirby is using rocks, but wanted to see if there are others
