Hello
I am on a Fire dept and we are getting a new Rescue truck. We wanna go with a 2010 4 door 4x4 F 550 diesel. We need this to be pretty heavy duty and get the most equipment in it we can without being overweight. Does anyone know of any good factory upgrades that will give us anymore capacity, the most truck possible. I believe a 488 gear helps but is there an upgrade for the front suspension or anything else? If you guys know of anything please let me know. We cant go to a 650 or 750 our chief wont budge on that.
Any help appreciated.

Is that with the 6.4? Check that forum out for issues and fixes.
I would get the 2011 model. So many improvements on the complaints of the previous models. Not to mention ive read a few places the whole 4x4 system is alot stronger now
the 2010 6.4 will do all u want. If it weren't a fire vehicle i would say wail til 2011, but you need something proven and the 6.4 duperduty has done that.
the 550 will be built to handle that weight you're talkin about
