All my calculations are hand calculated if you went by my on board it say 11.7 basically all time... Anyone know of a way to fix those? My wife came home the other night scared to death because the overhead unit said zero miles to empty when she had a quarter of a tank of gas left......

Ha!!
Mine's said 10.9 or 11.0 for weeks. No matter what kind of driving, or idling - and the DTE is a Joke.

Mines the same bro seldom changes buy last night if did jump to 11.8mpg.... Last night with 20 miles since filling up the tank the over head said 0 miles to empty..... My wife looked at me funny so I turned it off.....lol
On my 2002 2v van the mileage was the same because of the way I can now can drive it. I used to putt along and use the gas as little as I could to maintain it's 10-13 mpg. I still get 10-13 depending on if I'm pulling but now I can drive normally and I run away from stops at the speeds of all the cars. Basically it runs faster when driving easy so my milage is the same but the experiance driving it is way way better. If time is money then the time I save puts extra gas in the tank. Net gain from the 5 star plus now I like the way it runs. The tune is worth it and if some kind of driving the gives max milage is all you want then tell Mike so he will write that tune. I asked to just get it to run better on 87 and I got it.
In the winter when I'm plowing the truck sees extended idle times and plenty of 4WD throttle, my overhead numbers fall WAAYY low. I've had it read in the 7's.
that's what I had been getting at the begining of the season. saw as low as 5.5 mpg. even this spring no plowing no sand in the bed I was avriging 8-9 mpgs. I'm up to 10 with all the stuff I changed.
Try some fuel injection cleaner. When mine gets doggy and the mileage falls off, I dump a heavy dose of Techron on the tank. Sometimes I can tell the difference in the way it runs before I am off the fuel stations lot. Did this a couple weeks ago and my mileage has been back up in the 11-12.5 range. A strong 1 mpg above where it had been running.
well turns out I did have a bad caliper and a ujoint starting to seize. took me awhile to figure out the caliper, as it only dragged while driving. I couldn't spin the tire fast enough jacked off the ground by hand. the lower piston was cocked in the bore and chewed up??? the parts guy said the bracket on superdutys is known to "egg" the holes allowing the caliper to kick out and up.
back up to 11.42mpgs!!! the broken manifold studs probably didn't help.
After my 5 Star tune, 87 octane, I seen about a .6 to 1.1 mpg better gas mileage. I have never taken it out of Performance tune. I am happy with Mike and his tuner
Nice catch on the brakes. You may have been able read the temp difference between all 4 wheels and found the one dragging.
As far as the tuner I run 87 performance and 87 tow and didn't notice a difference in mpg, its about the same. My tunes are a little more aggressive than his usual tunes though. Even if I lost 1mpg I would still run the tunes.
So i checked just under the truck and it appeared that the return spring on the e brake was not quick release n all the way i clean them and they are loose but i just wont use the e brake till i get it fixed, i would let off the throttle and it wood slow down way faster then it used to, so after i pushed the release back it was normally but i m going to check mileage this weekend,
