ScanGauge ll now installed

Installed and programmed the ScanGauge ll this morning. I monitor the eot, ect, trannt temp. and voltage. Doing approximately 1 hour of in town driving and a little 50 mph hiway the eot never got more than 7 degrees above the ect and averaged around 3 to 4 degrees. Had the truck in hi-idle mod for about 15 minutes and never got more than a 4 degree split there. Everything appears to be good in 6.0 land at this point. Tranny never over 142 degrees. Don't forget this is unloaded in mostly stop and go traffic with a couple of 1 mile areas of 50.

I just helped a buddy install an AutoMeter HPOP gauge, EOT gauge, and ECT gauge. We went for a ride and I was comparing the analog vs. SGII data, as the SG ICP numbers looked low when I first tried it out on my truck.

When we ran them both, the SG ICP numbers were low compared to the AM gauge. The AM gauge also pegged out too easily IMO. The test truck was running a race tune, but seeing the AM gauge pegged when IPR duty cycle was at around 70% made me suspicious of it's accuracy.

Regardless, I am tweaking with the ICP math key to get a more accurate readout(0-4000 psi). I'll post up what I end up with.

FWIW, EOT and ECT read the same between the analogs and SGII.

Enjoy your new toy!!

I would be very interested in your input numbers for the ICP readout. Did I miss something in the X gauge data protocol? Did not see that option.

I found it for the 7.3. Are those the numbers that you are using?

Look at page 5 of this PDF. I used the 6.0 specific codes listed. IPR% is cool to watch too.

On the tranny temp. on line, I picked up
TXD: 07 E1 22 16 74 Your chart and one I have is:
TXD: 07 E0 22 16 74
do you think it makes a diff.? Unloaded been running around 142 degrees.

I don't know if it makes a difference. I have only used the 07E1 TX key, and it displays within a few degree's of my DiPricol analog with sender in the test port.

I see now. Check at the bottom of the table where you got that code(Ford CAN) and it shows 6.0 diesel tranny temp specifically..

Ya, I tried the 07E0221 on the chart and lost the read out. Had to go back to the 07E1. Just FYI. The ICP readings are cool. Talk about hopscotching. LOL
I am idling in the 590's.

When you get a chance check out the max. I was only seeing about 1700-1800psi. I knew that wasn't the case.

With stock tuning I'm closer now with max at 3100 psi. Idle is mid 500, but I believe that's a hair too high.

Can any of you with AE, DashDaq, or IDS tell us what a stock tuned, warmed up truck should have for ICP at idle? ICP at WOT?

William....I see the gauge has a factory setting for water temp labeled FWT. How can I actually get a reading to say ECT in *F?

I can't tell you. They don't give us an easy way to manipulate any of the factory preset gauges. Mine actually reads *FWT for water temp.

Found another cool little code.

Here's a simple code for max water temp during a given cycle(should reset every time truck is shut off/restarted). Might be good to look at after a good tow.

TXD=20
RXF=8
No input for RXD or Math, go to Name screen
Name it what you want ( I chose WT+)

You can setup similar codes for max RPM and speed, etc with values shown for a given cycle or day.

My max is in the mid to upper 3,000 psi range. Doesn't stay there long with out a load. My idle today was in the upper 700's then back to high 500's. Must be due to oil warming up?
