Torque Converter????

yea the truck kinda stalls just like if i pulled to a stop sign and didnt push the clutch in. then when taking off it kinda takes off like if you let out the clutch on a manual tranny too fast.

From that description it does sound like a bad torque converter. However the problem is that, with the trans in neutral or Park and engine at idle, the whole torque converter is rotating with the engine. When you shift into drive or reverse one half of the converter stops rotating instantly while the other half keeps rotating with the engine and having to drag the fluid round with it. So if the engine is not in good tune that extra torque suddenly applied to it can cause it to stall.
So, before condeming the torque converter, make sure that everything is OK with the engine. Maybe do plugs, maybe wires, fuel filter, air filter and check the timing.
