Ok, I'm trying to desside if I would rather buy a new set of wheels, or, a lowering kit first. The truck looks pretty good the way it sits now, but I'm wantint to lower it a couple inches. But at the same time, It might look kinda stupid lowered on factory wheels and hubcaps. So, whats your opinion?
I think you should get some wheels first. I was going to lower my truck but now i've decided just to even out the back with the front, so it sits level. I want to get some 17x8 Torque Thrusts. What kind of wheels you going to get?
In my opinion, I would probably decide how I you are going to lower it first, and then measure for wheels. It would be very dissapointing to drop the bucks on wheels, only to have them rub or worse later. Lowering options are slightly limited with these twin I beam pickups. Do a search for lowering and you will find plenty of threads listing pros and cons of various bolt on parts.

I have no real answer for the question at hand, but I just had to let you know that you have a really nice looking truck.
I agree with Witty73. I don't see how you can buy wheels (offsets, diameters) and tires (widths, heights) without knowing exactly how much space you have to put them in.
I'm not sure how I'm gonna lower it yet, the DJM kit is only a 3-4 drop, and putting bigger wheels on it will set it back up a little. I was thinking about saving up a little more, and springing for the Fat Man Mustang II front kit. If I go ahead and drop it, I'll know more of what size wheels I can run, and how it will sit. I've had a few bagged trucks before, but really don't wanna bag it, I want it to be a driver. I would hate to spend the money on new wheels, and drop it and find out I cant use the wheels I bought. So, I'm thinking about going ahead and dropping it on factory wheels and hubcaps for now.
I put the Fat Man Stuff in mine, if you want to know what you are in for, let me know. If you are going fatman route, definately dont buy wheels and tires until you are done. Stockers wont clear my brake calipers now. Also, know before hand that if you go this route you will more then likely want to narrow your rear end as well. The end result is pretty awesome, but it is a lot of work and alot of expense. You will have the choice to go with the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern that the car uses. I opted to go with the 5 on 5.5 to keep the front and rear matching. So in doing that I needed a larger wilwood caliper. I ended up narrowing my 9 inch, getting new axles for the rear so the track width would line up. When it was all said and done, my stock wheels would not fit over the extra large aluminum calipers on the front. I am not too bummed cause I always thought I was going to get new ones anyways.
Do you mind me asking how much it caust you to go with the fat man when all was said and done? I know its alot of work and money, but I've heard the Fat Man suspention is worth the money.
If your thinking about the Mustang II, then consider the 03-up panther (crown vic, grand marquis) front swap, check out the 67-72 for a few different threads on the subject.
