DOOR CHIME REMOVAL

I have located the annoying door chime under the dash, but notice there is a big plug attached. is there a way to remove this with no consequence? I looked in the search threads, but found nothing answering this question. Thanks

I just unplugged mine and threw it in my storage desk so I can reinstall it if I sell it. No foul consequences, just no chiming.

I just took the ignition key cylinder out and put a piece of electrical tape over contacts. Now that thing chimes when I open the door and leave the lights on but not when the key is in the ignition.

I pulled the plug off the chime and then removed the wire that comes from the key, I think it is black with a yellow stripe. Then I plugged the connector back in.

I had mine disconnected for months lol.. I got tired of it just layin loose so I put it back on. If I know I'm gonna have the door open a while, like when I'm cleaning it out. I just unplug it so I can listen to the radio with the doors open with out it chiming.

It's a small black box, maybe 2"x4" OR 2"x5" and is above and to the right of your right foot when you are sitting in the truck. There should be a couple of boxes there, remove the one that stops the chime when you unplug it. As I recall, it was the one closest to the firewall.

my dad removed the chime when he owned the 95. I feel the sensor for they key is a better option. As I left the lights on a number of times with that truck.

The one with the gray plug is the "chimer"

Thats cool guys. I always thought it was that blue box. I was close. LOL... I wonder what that is for.

I may diconnect mine. I don't mind the XLT chime so much since its like the car ones, but the XL and lower truck chime that is the buzzer is really irritating.
