Hi there i just bought my 2007 Ford F-150 Lariat a couple weeks ago and i love it. The only problem i having is now when i start my truck the 6cd changer makes a clicking sound. Then after a failed attempt 3 times it says cd error and disables my cd player. Now i have never even put a cd in the player at all so i dont believe it is a jammed cd, although it is a used truck who know what the previous owner did. If anyone else has had this problem and a solution that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Welcome to the Forum.....I bought my 07 F-150XL Slightly used. The Previous owner had installed an aftermarket unit. While the Aftermarket radio was nice,Im a stickler for OEM.
I purchased a 6-disc head unit on ebay(new car pull out),and installed it.
The radio works flawlessly,BUT from time to time when I crank the truck it will do as yours does.It seems to be searching for a CD.
I have found that when it does it,I merely trun the radio off,and then back on,and it will stop.Ive never had it refuse to load a CD.
You might try posting your situation in the audio portion of the site.I dont think this is an un-common issue,as I seem to remember other posts concerning this issue.IF you do find a definitave answer(that fixes your problem) let me know. While it isnt a big issue with me,I would like to know what is ultimately causing this.
The factory cd changers are garbage and are notorious for jamming. Replace it with a good aftermarket head unit and you'll like the sound and options way better.
