I have a 2004 Ford F150 with a stock radio and single CD player that has gone bad. I've searched Ebay and found replacements for this, but I've also found some that have 6-cd changers taken from 2006 trucks. can these multi-changers be put in place of the single changer combos? They look like they are the same size and have the same plug-ins.
I'd just like to know if the radio/cd player combo that goes in the dash of a 2004 Ford truck is interchangeable with a radio/6 CD player combo from the dash of a 2006 (or later) truck. They both seem to take up the same amount of space and have much the same button configuration.
yes it definitely will, i also have an 04 lariat but my 6disk changer went out, so i got a cheaper single disc for a while from an 07 ford 500 until i found another 6 disc on craigslist. the only difference you may face is that there is an extra wire harness input on the 6 disc than the other, but it may have something to do with the factory sub or the steering wheel controls, buy either way i have had both, it should work fine. it surprised me how most radios on the 2004 and up vehicles are interchangeable.
