I had a previous thread where I got a lot of good information from you guys about some ideas of what to do, to prepare my 05 f250 psd for a 5000 mile summer trip pulling our 30 ft fifth wheel. We are not new to fifth wheeling as we have been at it for ten years and we are on our second truck and second fifth wheel. But, what is new is making sure our 6.0 psd is good to go.
As a result of everyones input I have decided to purchase a OBDII monitor to enable me to look at a lot of operating temps and pressures. I did a lot of reading and research and sort of settled on the DashDaq unit. I called them on the phone and asked a person at DashDaq if I could use their unit to get a reading of the coolant temps at the oil cooler and after the coolant passed through exhaust gas cooler. He said that he thought on the fords the sensor for these temps was just a switch which only got throwed at a preset temp.
Does anyone here know if I can get the actual temps at these locations from the Ford OBD sensors on my 05 f250 psd??
The only ECT reading that I'm aware of is just for the one in the block that is it. I do not believe it does it through the EGR cooler and/or the oil cooler. Now what people tend to do is monitor both ECT and EOT(which the dashdaq does) and see if there is a greater then 15* spread(EOT being the hotter no matter the spread) and if there is and for a prolonged time to look into there being an EGR/Oil Cooler issue.
This is tangent to what your asking, but if you are going to get the DashDAQ unit, I would also the get the extra equipment to monitor Fuel PSI with it as well. You don't have to, but something I would suggest.
Thank You. I guess that means that Ford does not have a sensor that measures fuel pressure. I noticed the DashDaq said that you could get fuel rail pressure. I was thinking that would be what I was looking for? Guess not.

No, there is no fuel pressure PID for our trucks. For the 6.4 I believe there is, but not for ours.
