I'm hoping someone can decode the VIN from my F-600 for me. I was initially told it was a 1978, then told 1971 which I believe is closer. I'm hoping to buy a service manual soon and would like to know exactly what year it is. This truck also has a DSO number, and I'm wondering too if there's a source out there to find out if there was anything in particular this truck had on it from the factory? Thanks in advance everyone!
this is a shot in the dark but if you go off of the light duty codes it should read.
F60-F600
D-330 cid V8
V-Kentucky Truck
AG Maybe A62972 Would make it Dec. 1966-A56,000 thru A69,999
the rest of the truck would read out for a 71 but the last 6 digits of the vin.
158 - Wheel Base
A - NP 435 4-speed
AA8 - Cab Chassis is 8 but i do not know what the AA is.
I think this is pretty close but it's a start and good for a bump. Hope you figure everything out. These ol med duty trucks are another breed.
Nice, thanks a lot for the detailed response! It's much appreciated. Now I can get the correct service manual, do a little tinkering and put this thing to work.
