6.0 trouble.. help

OK guys I need your help.. My 2003 6.0 has been running like crap for a few monthes now. I first thought it was the EGR, I replaced it ( with a reconditioned one ) the truck did not run better after, for ****s and giggles I changed the fuel filters, no change,I then did an oil and filter change, I actually think it ran a little worse after that, this weekend I changed the ICP sensor ( pain in the *** ) still no different. I checked the FICM modual and I think that is OK, my truck has the 7 screw FICM and I had 48volts with key on and during start cycles at the top right screw looking over the drivers fender... is that correct?

Have you scanned it for codes? A little better description of "running like crap" would also help. Black smoke? Loss of power up hills? Have you considered cleaning the turbo and checking boost pressure also? Air filter ok or possibly plugged? Just throwing out some suggestions here.

Well 48 volts is the magic number, your FICM is probably fine, but give us some more details on miles, mods, and previous work, and be more specific on what running like crap is

sorry guys, running like crap = very low idle 500 / 600 rpm, almost at a stall, no power untill the engine temp is to at least 120 or so I can put the pedal to the floor and go no where, although it seams to be better if I puch the TOW/HAUL button. I have an Edge Juice platnum w/attitude and a 5" Silver line exhaust, these items I have had on it for more then a year.

I have not brought it into the shop to have it run for codes yet.

I'm going to stick my neck out (again) and say you have some injector or injector related issues. Remove the edge and see if that helps. Edge attitude is notorious for killing tranny's because of it's lack of true tuning for the TCM module. It's not all about shift pressure. By your operating description--injector stiction.

Need those codes, bad injectors should throw some codes and give you a better idea. How's the turbo working is it trying to spool up. Do you have any gauges to monitor what that edge chip is doing?

I can see that, after all the edge is a performance enhancer, but when it takes that much MORE to make your truck still run crappy..........see what I'm saying???? Code scan is imperative at this point, but I'm still sticking with injector related.

Are you losing any coolant or have any oil in the coolant?

Some Fram oil filters are Racors, but not all. I do not believe that Fram re-branded and Racor fuel filters though. I wouldn't use them.
