Im sure you will save a lot off money with the old 2010 model. Since im sure the dealers an ford will want to get rid off those first. Some say $15,000 cheaper. Either way you should be happy.
11 grand off the 2010 but the 2011 are fantastic looking vehicles. They ride better, just about everything is better but then again for 60 to 63 thousand they better be... decisions decisions decisions
The 2010 has a known track record. I would go with a 2010, plus you can get a good discount on a 2010. Shure the 2011 trucks have a warrenty, but what good does the truck do you if its in the shop for warrenty work half the time.
It is a hard choice..I would really like to try a 6.7, but I really like my 6.4. I tow a 14K 5th with it just fine and there are several that tow just as heavy. Some have well over 100K on the motor with no issues so that is a good track record.
One thing to keep in mind no matter which PSD you get is the maintance. Your cost on that issue compared to a gas motor will be higher and more frequent now with the emissions systems.
So since we are talking emissions, the new 6.7 will require urea, while I know some truck stops have it now, I bet it will take about a year for it to be widely avail. Ford says it will only need to be filled at oil change intervals..I would not bet on it. I would think twice as often myself.
I know that when I bought my 6.4 in 2008 ULSD was suppose to be avail everywhere, well even last summer when going camping in N.H. is was hard to find twice.
Just traded my 2003 diesel for a new 2010 dually. I wanted to the 2011 model, but they only offered a $1200 rebate. I got $11,400 in rebates and dealer incentives to buy the 2010.
If you can afford the 2011, I would go with that. I'm happy with my new 2010 truck though. I think I was told the new 6.7 would get 18% better mileage. Always cautious about a new engine and wonder if the bugs have been worked out of it.

$11,400 in rebates and dealer incentives? Do you mean that the dealer took $5,400 off the sticker, then added that to the $6,000 rebate that Ford is offering on the 2010s? Or is Ford offering an $11,400 rebate right now?
List price was 53,600 after the add-ons. Got a bit over $7000 for Ford Rebate and another $4400 from dealer incentive. "Internet Special" is how they portrayed it, as I requested a quote via internet. I got the XLT with the FX off-road package. I also had an "X" Plan and it came to about the same discount due to the dealer incentive. I'm sure there was some financial shenanigans that I missed, but I was OK with the price. The lady I dealt with was easy on the eyes and left the Chevrolet dealer after the Obama buy-out of GM. To verify that, my wife cracked an Obama joke and she laughed and called him some not-so-nice names.
I asked if the same discount applied to a 2010 F350 single rear wheel and I was told yes. I would have gotten the 2011 model but the only discount was $1200. Another dealer I spoke with in town offered about 7900 in rebates from Ford, but no dealer incentive. I don't know if this rebate is valid in all states, but two dealers here all had about 7000 in factory rebates.
The 2011 F350 I was looking at was the same price. Even the 6.7 diesel option was the same as the 6.4($7000+). I was expecting the price for the 6.7 to be more but it wasn't. Insurance cost me about 130 more for 6 months and the DMV cost will be about $1000 here, but since the wife won $5000 on video poker, no issue.
I had the same decision to make last week. We purchased a 2010 Airstream TT and went looking for a tow vehicle. It came down to a 2011 Black/Black Lariat 6.7 and a 2010 Black/Gold King Ranch. Both are great looking trucks, not crazy about the grill and the interior on the 2011. The seats had a strange pattern (imo) which looked like, I'm not sure what. . .
The deal on the KR was the deciding factor, awesome deal! Love it!
