Let me ask you this. Have you ever heard the fan on your truck kick on under a nice heavy towing load? I just think there is no way (in my best Buford T. Justice voice) I say no way an electric fan moves that much air.
You might find someone who has done it, but most accept the advice not to and move on.
If you never ever tow then take the fan off. It'll keep cool enough just driving and you won't have the burden of a fan.
