I've searched but I cant find an answer. I have no ground signal coming from the pcm to the gpr and the wait to start light only comes on for about two seconds. Both problems started at the same time. If I manually ground the gpr it works fine. The GPR is new. Any help would be appreciated.
Are all 8 glow plugs OK? If there are are burned out the GPR will short cycle when controlled by the PCM. Manually grounding the GPR too long could possibly melt the UVC harness or a glow plug.

I have replaced all glow plugs and all uvc harness. Eveything has been working fine. Starts good, runs good, just no signal from pcm to the gpr. This problem started instantly not over time. If I put ground to gpr it works fine.
My truck used to do this, would intermittently not ground the GPR, or delay doing it, this was the first signs of a failing ecm, it did it for 4-5 years before the ecm finally died, but, that was the problem
When the truck is cold does the WTS light come on for more than a few seconds? If EOT is reporting 130* or above the GPR will not cycle although WTS light will come on for a few seconds. I think the key here is if WTS light only comes on for a couple seconds on both a cold and hot engine, the EOT (engine oil temp) sensor might be bad.

the WTS only comes on for about two seconds hot or cold. Any way to check the EOT sensor? And where is it located. Thanks.
It is located on the rear top drivers side of the HPOP reservoir, two wire plug.
Try this .. unplug it and turn the key to on. With it unplugged watch the WTS light. System should default to cold with it unplugged.
If that does not work and if you have an ohm meter measure the resistance of the sensor on its two prongs. If the truck is cold note the air temperature and report back with both readings. I have a chart I can look up resistance vs temp. As an example ...
