I just installed LED tailights on my '97 Expy. As most of eveyone already knows, they draw less apms. than the normal bulbs you use. Therefore, when you hit your turn signal, the flasher relay thinks you have a bulb out, and does it's rapid flashing sequence. I have been reading on-line that you either have to replace your flasher with a new electronic flasher that can handle variable current loads or put a resistor in-line to the bulbs. Two questions to everyone.
1. Does anyone know where the turn signal flasher is located. I have check all my fuse/relay boards, and can't find it there, unless I am just not seeing it. I see the fuse to an electronic flasher, but need to locate the flasher is.
2. Has anyone already done this, and could give me advice on what to do next?
Thanks for the info. I actually came across that web-site. I found the flasher, and pulled it. Now the trouble is finding a comparable flasher that I can use. The web-site showed a Tridon flasher, but they don't make a 5 prong flasher which is what Ford uses. There is where I am having trouble now. The guys at the local parts store here have no clue what I want, so they aren't much help....so I continue my endless search.
