Yes you can. Driver side is the easy side. Take off the I/C pipe, Air filter and tube. Then take the valve cover gasket off and start poping out the injectors out one by one. Once there all out swap the orings out and before you put them back in go down to the crank and by HAND first turn it over 3 or 4 times to push the oil out the cylnders becuase when you take out the injectors oil and fuel will pour in. Then unplug the CPS and crank it over a few more times with the starter motor till you think you got all the oil out and then re install the injectors and because your there I would replace the glow plugs to. After your done with changing all the injectors change the oil before you go driving cause now you have fuel in your oil. And that's about it in a nut shell.

Thanks man. Is there a good place to get glow plugs as well. I havent looked at Riff Raff yet. I know Clay has the O ring kits. I will have to give him a call first thing Monday I guess and see how quick he can get the stuff to me. Maybe I can find a thread on replacing these things.
thanks again

Yep I just found them, but you wouldnt worry about the cups after 208k?? Just thinking while I was in there, and after hearing all the fuss over them craking up on everyone, but then again I dont really know how common it is.

Not that I know of. Not that I know this either but bad cups means fuel in the coolant correct?. guess I need to go see if I can figure that one out.

I would stop, back up, and take the fuel filter out again. You said the fuel looked funny, look at it again and see if you can find out what's wrong with it. Bad fuel can cause a problem too.

The likelihood of all 8 injectors failing at once is almost non-existent, so if you have a bad injector, only one could be replaced instead of all 8. Injector o-rings are not too bad, and again you only have to replace the ones that are bad. Of course it's usually just as easy to replace at least the entire bank if not all 8, than to figure out which o-ring is bad.

Just do not assume anything due to your odometer reading. I've got around 327k miles on my stock injectors, stock injector o-rings, and original cups.

Once again that makes alot of Since. I just went out and tried to figure out if I could tell if there was fuel in the coolant, and found the coolant a little low. Nothing in the over flow/fill tank. Of course I could not tell anything. So I topped that off and started it. It has been sounding kinda bad here lately when I start it. like lopeing not sure how to explain it but it just does not go to a straight smooth idle. like RRR.. RRR.. RRR.. RRR for a little while. If that helps.
Thanks Chris

How old is your engine oil, and is it full? Our fuel injectors run off of engine oil, so clean fresh oil is important. A loping that kind of sounds like romp, romp, romp is usually oil related.

This sounds very similar to what my wife's truck is doing. There is a thread around here somewhere "Truck is missing" that describes a lil more about it. I have been trying to figure out the fuel issue but it very well could be an oil issue? Correct? Really need to get this truck running right so i can park mine and let the fun begin!!!

Sorry for the

The romp romp romp is what it has been doing the last few times I have started it. The last time for about 10-15 seconds I would say. As for oil I know a little bit about how it can affect the way it runs. So yeah I did check that. It is full and I would say around 5k mile old Rotella. Kinda the same romp romp as when it is real cold and I forgot to plug it in start up.

Is an AE worth having. Would it tell me if I had bad injectors or bad injector O rings? If so where is a good place to get one?

Dont worry about injector cups unless there is fuel in the coolant. Easiest way to tell is take a paper towel and dip it in the coolant and try to light it with a lighter. It will light if there is fuel in there, and wont if its just coolant.

I would never recomend anyone to do injector cups unless there is a problem as it is a big job. I thought I could do it in a few hours but took me about 12 hrs with all the associated work and cleaning of the cooling system.

Here is my quick write up on the job. Injector cup replacement
