I am currently redoing a bunch of the ignition system on the block of a 1976 F-150 (i.e. new plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor, and new ignition coil. When I got into looking at the ignition condenser which looks like it was rigged to the ignition coil, i was trying to find A) where it is suppose to be and B) is it even suppose to be there. I got to looking at LMC catalog and was lookin at the distributor assemble and it isnt even showing a ignition condenser on it. Even if it is suppose to be there where is the proper place that is suppose to be.
That condenser on the coil is part of the RF interference system and keep ignition "noise" out of your sound system. Has nothing to do with what type of ignition system you have.
Your 76 should have the Dura Spark electronic system. Are you saying that your's doesn't?

I have the electronic ignition, but what I am trying to find out is where exactly the ignition condenser is suppose to be mounted properly. This morning I took off some electrical tape and found that the wire is pretty much just stuck onto the ignition coil socket and was electrical taped in. I want the truck to be right, so I'm trying to see where it is actually suppose to be.

The wire fron the coil to the cap is just a push in fit. I would suspect that the tape was acting as an insulator like the rubber cap that would come with new plug wires.
The only noise supression I see in my Haynes manual's wiring diagram is off the voltage regulator. I think you can live without the condenser on the coil.
