Need some opinions

Ok so i got a 97 stroke auto with 95,000 miles 100hp chip intake intercooler shift kit and torque converter... I want to do injectors like stage 1s. It's about the last big thing I can do to my truck before I need to save for college and stuff.. Should I go ahead and do them? I'm worried about the tranny goin out and havin to get it rebuilt. Do you think it would last me long enough to use it for a daily driver? I wud go ahead and do it but I got 6" lift and 37s so that doesn't help. Just need some opinions so I don't blow the tranny and get stuck with the bill. Anything else I cud do to help prevent it? I don't plan on drivin it much during college tho. Thx any opinions wud be great.

Thats a loaded question! Lol

It all depends on how your going to drive the truck. If you nice and easy on the tranny will probably keep up. I can't remember who, but someone sells stage 1 "tranny saver" injectors. That might be the route you need to go.

I think it will last as a daily driver. Provided you have decent tuner and don't wind her up too much.

Swamps sells tranny savers.

I'd get Stage I's from Jim www.diy-injectors.com

And then also put in a shift kit. The Transgo Tugger kit is only about $100 and would help your tranny hold up.

Also, what kind of chip do you have?

With stage one's or tranney saver IF is a big word. Its takes a lot of will power to stay out of it!! Even with my Baby Beans I can't help myself sometimes, stage 1's, forget it, the right foot will find its way to the floor.

yea "if" is a big question here.. i cant help but floor it now so i couldnt imagine what id be like with stage 1s haha.. so not even tranny savers would be alright? well i about need new tires and 37s are not so cheap. should i ditch the lift and level it like it was before? if i left 35s with it leveled on there would make a difference with the stage 1s?

If all you do is floor it now, even with tranny savers which iirc are like 140cc which aren't that much smaller than 1's, your tranny's days will be numbered. I would wait til you have the security of affording a tranny. Just my .02 Do some other things to your truck, like fix your fenders, buy new tires... IF you can't afford a tranny and can't keep your foot out of it with new injectors you wont be driving your rig either, and that kind of defeats the purpose.

My baby beans are 130cc and if I can brag here for a second, my truck gets right after it. I can only image (guess) what stage 1 or 2's are like. I've rebuilt my trans twice, the second time I was out in the middle of nowhere and couldn't get a BTS.

Ok, so i split the difference. Baby beans are 130 and baby swamps are 150. Nevertheless. Tranny's days will be numbered.

I would use the money for your stage I's to beef up your transmission a bit more. Without a tranny stage I's are useless. Just my opinion.

alright so i see this isnt gonna be cheap either way.. what about a 5 speed swap? how hard is it? or what else could i do to my auto? i forgot to mention i got a shift kit. but that brings up another question. when it shifts from 1st to 2nd it pretty much slams into gear..real firm. i usualy let off a little and you cant feel it.. 2nd to 3rd not as bad but also firm. but when i pull a trailor it just glides thru the gears. im not talking flooring it taking off either.
