I know that everybody has different opinions on how they like a truck to look but I posted a few days ago how I was disappointed that Ford didn't blow us away with a great looking new truck. I know some cars/trucks take time to get used to, especially if they are radical changes like the 97, but I hoped Ford would come out with a new design that you love the first time you see it, like the 94 Ram did for me and the latest Ram for that matter. I still buy Fords though, on my 3rd 150.
It doesnt matter to me how it looks, what matters is that it holds up. My f-250 is all original and has 232k miles on it. If i could get another truck to last as long, I would die happy
I haven't seen many in person but it will most likely take me a while to get used to the new look. I went ahead and bought an 03 I'll wait and see how the 1rst few years go before I buy a new design that way they have a chance to work out any bugs that may pop up.
i am a little partial to the truck because i helped to prove the supercab rear doors out while they were in prototype phase. the company i work for did all the doors for the truck as well as the tailgate, and the box sides. i like the exterior but really do not like the interior. i believe that a gear shifter for a truck shoud be on the column.
I test drove an XLT supercab with the 5.4 a few days ago and just opening the door was a better experience. My current 97 F150 has lousy door handles, they are too slippery and I didn't like them from day one. Great ride and handling, my truck feels down right crude compared to this one. Interior was nice overall although the instrument cluster looks cheap to me. Too bad I can't afford one at the moment.
I will agree that the 2004 F150 is better looking than the previous one but i still think that it's ugly. I think i will have to hold on to my 93 f250 for a while longer
I like the new 2004 F-150 better than the last model. The interior is very nice. But if I could any truck I wanted and money wasn't an object I would rather have a F-250 or F-350. When I do get a new truck it will probably be a Ford F-150 though.
the dealership down the road form me had guys lined up to order the 04 f150 now 80% have cancelled there order, roflmao @ ford they really screwd this one up
Andy,
I'm keeping my 1965 F100 too. Especially since I've put so much into it. But, I also really like my new 2004 STX F150. It's really a great upgrade for the body styling, frame and suspenson changes. The only engine that's available in the STX, the 4.6 seems like it got plenty of towing power but I really won't know until I hook up to it.

you are going to find out that at around 60,000 miles that 4.6 will start to spit out blue smoke at start up. my 98 expedition has the same engine and that is what it does. if i ever buy another f 150 again it will have the 5.4. you would not believe the difference in acceleration.
