Does any on know if there is a Straight Axle swap kit for a 1997 f150? I would like one that has like at lest a 6" lift with it, but would reather have one with a 8 to 10" lift though.
Looks good man. I don't think i would go up that high though. The only time mine goes off road is when I'm hunting. How hard was it to install, and what motor you running? You have anything done to it?

Well i started the build oct. of last year. and just dropped it off yesteday to do the gears and front shaft to be 100%.
I'm running a 5.4 with throttle body, tb spacer, cold air intake and headers
5.13's, 1410 yokes, superior chromo'd 35 splines with nitro joints.
Its expensive and alot of work, but its worth it IMO.
Ok kool. I put a 99 lightning motor in my truck with a 10lb pully on the supercharger, poted and polished heads, a custom cut cam, and full custom exhoust. I know I would have the power to pull any size tire that I wanted to. Also I have 4.88 gears in it now.

damn!
How was the swap? I looked into it, but i kept reading it wasn't worth it and should prob just buy a supercharger kit.
well I started with a 97 4.6. The 4.6 in that year only had 220hp to flywheel. I'm guessing the truck has around 430 rwhp and something like 475 to 500 rwtq. So it would of been the some kind of foulish for me to just go with a normal 5.4 when I could swap out for a Lightning 5.4. It is kind of a headack, but it is well worth it. I had to fab brackets and things. I really need to have it dyno tuned, but I can't find a place that will do it bc of the 13.5 in wide tires on it. To tell you the truth I picked up like 2 to 3 mpg by doing the swap. The truck just has the power to pull it's self now, and with the 4.6 it didn't. O yea it also has the power to pull all imports, most Chevys and Dodges around.
