Just wondering what most people have or prefer on the box of their truck. I currently have the soft Tonneau cover on mine. Still looking for a cap.

Unless I have a real need for a topper or a cover, I really prefer the look of a nice clean pickup.

they all have their uses at one time or another....

caps are great if you have a lot of tools that you are always hauling around, or if you want to make the back into a "sleeper"

soft tonneau covers have their place as well. i got one on my last truck i bought, never thought i would use it, but it has come in handy with moving stuff around and keeping it dry and what not, now that it is winter.

hard tonneaus are good for showtrucks

open bed is still the way to go lots of the times. especially if your in construction or farming, its just impossible to use anything on the back because of bulky objects or the need to be able to stand up on the back of your truck to unload things.

to each his own

The only time I wish I had a topper is when I'm hunting, especially if it's windy and the dust or snow is blowing. Other than that I find them a real PITA.

I have a cap on my truck, and I like it. chas1234 has one, and hates it. It's all personal preference. My next truck is going to be quite a bit sportier, so it will get a soft tonnoe cover.

Nothing. Too much work if I have to haul anything.

the thing i hate about most soft tonneau covers, especially mine, is the snaps. they are easy to get off and then it takes half an hour of stretching it to get it back on. its quicker to take the entire frame off of mine rather than ripping off the snaps. im sure im not the only one with this problem....

Nothing as a cover. I have a deep well tool box that I keep loaded that mounts across the front of the bed from rail to rail. A cap or cover wouldn't work for me due to the different types of materials and truck parts that have carried from time to time. Plus, I load ballast weight in the back when I plow. I do like the hard tonneau covers but they would not work out for me. Jake.

if i need my box covered, i steal the topper from work, the work truck, or just take the grand marquis....... i tend to use my truck too much to have to deal with a cover

I have a cap on my truck. When my father-in-law got the truck new in 84 he had the cap put on. I was going to take it off but the bed of the truck has never seen snow! so im not sure what to do.lol

My wife has one of those GM hard tonneaus on her truck.
it is 4 sections and will lock the tailgate or fold out of the way.
