Nice Tex. Good to hear! I think the intake did me in also. I may look into a dual exhaust set up again curved out by the tires without the intake this time around. It was only $400 bucks for stainless tips and the magnaflow muffler installed.
My 2006 Chevy was a 4x4 Work Truck model. So I had the vinyl floor with no carpet which didn't help for insulation purposes. It was a cheapo Chevy truck, but I really did enjoy the truck, especially when they gave me $17,000 trade in towards my Ford 4 years later...with very low miles of course.
Hey Tex. Do you know which Flowmaster you put on your F150? I see amazon.com has 30% off their already low prices on magnaflow and flowmaster mufflers.

I'll have to check underneath the truck. I don't recall him mentioning any "model" number of the muffler that I got. Hopefully it's setup in such a way that I can see something there. I'll try to remember to do that first thing in the morning and post in sometime in the morning.
Though I'm not a fan of Slowmaster, I think you'd be ok as the F-150 (especially these new ones) are much more solidly built and insulated than the Chevy. Also, if you have the muffler installed as far back as possible and keep the counterweight off the stock system, it'll help keep some of the resonating to a minimum inside the cab...
This is why I am such a strong advocate of Dynomax race magnums (now called Ultraflows). They have a low tone below about 2,500 RPMs but really growl in higher up in the RPMs. They also don't have baffling.
I love Dynomax race magnums too. I have Dynomax Ultraflo on my Stang.
I'm partial to just about any straight through or turbo muffler or glasspack versus a chambered one. Chambered are more restrictive and really are not much better than stock mufflers.
I have a larger/longer Magnaflow on my truck and love it. Its nice and deep and not loud at all.
I also agree that so called CAIs are a waste of money. I had the KN FIPK on my truck for a little while and it ran worse and got worse fuel economy. It also did not seal up good at the throttle body. I'll stick with the stock air box and filter.
I know my truck is not the same as the newer ones, but I think its still relevant for comparison.
