I just got a new jbg catalog with my body bushings and was going through it. I seen were they are going to offer a complete kit Minus the rear truck glass to do a half cab conversion on our Broncos. It will be fiberglass bulk head and I believe pieces to cover the bed sides and rear window opening. I have been planning to do this after my kids are grown and this will make it a lot easier.
I have been waiting on this, I've seen them for a couple of years ,it will be nice to be able to buy one...like you i was starting to get ready to fab one.
It was in the catalog I got last year. When I called on it in Dec. they said they were having issues with the suppliers and it was on hold. Maybe this has been taken care of since they are still in.
If it's any comfort, they had their soft top "coming soon" for several years with the release date pushed back over and over. It DID eventually get released and is now for sale.
I saw one in real life two summers ago. I thought it looked kinda goofy, like someone chopped 6ft out of the middle of an 8ft pickup bed. Oh well, I guess it takes all kinds.
The "half cab" that JBG has been trying to reproduce is a unit that Creative Products of Minnesota manufactured some years ago. It is a fibreglass bulkhead that fits behind the front seats and runs to the floor. The bulkhead typically did NOT come with a window but only the opening. The reason being that the opening was the same size as the F-series back glass and you could put any back glass for a full size pickup that you liked into it. This gave plenty of options for solid window, sliding glass, even pop-out models that are (or were) available aftermarket.
