I was driving a 454 ss truck one night on a country back road. A cat ran right in front of the truck and I heard three thuds. I looked at my friend and said, "that cat was on life number six and just used seven, eight, and nine.
I always feel bad when I hit an animal. It just happens sometimes.
One time me and the ex girlfriend were driving along in a snow storm and a deer ran across the road. She said "look, there goes a deer!" and as it darted into the woods I head bang! I looked out my window to see this deer I just hit tumbling *** over end along side my truck as I slowed down. It slid into the middle of a 3 way intersection then was ran over by a superduty. The thing was dead as could be. My truck didn't really sustain any damage. It got hit dead on with the driver side frame rail, left a dent the size of my thumb nail on the bumper and tore off my already half broken plastic bottom piece.
when I worked at the Grand Canyon one of our pilots had a hawk attack the helicopter, it made it through the main rotor and hit the nose of the helicopter and then through the wind screen in to the passengers lap than out the side window. pilot flew back to base, the passenger got out of the helicopter, got in her car and drove away.
same pilot a few years later had his Volkswagen rabbit attacked by a bald eagle while driving to work at the canyon. it's head made it through the head light and in to the engine compartment.
all before digital age and no one had a camera either time.
Hit an Owl at night in S. Dakota. Scratched the door/windshield post skid marks on top of roof tht the inside edge of the tailgate lots of feathers in bed
Bunch of years back when I had my Ranger, I had a dove hit the windshield. Upon impact the bird popped like a water balloon. Tried using the wipers to get it off, but had to pull over and use my ice scrapoer to clean the guts off.
