Go to my album and click on my 79-f-100 ,you will see some pictures of a 79 460, It was dark in the shed, so sorry. The idlers are for air cond. power steering pump is off of crank and nothing else on that belt. JIM
Here is my stock 351M bracket........I had to modify the radius if the "stock" hole is the on on the far left..............just added the plate steel and cut out the arc to match the stock hole
okay, cool. Thanks guys, the pic helped a lot. I won't have a/c hooked up for quite a while...next year if I'm lucky. One question, does a spacer go between the p/s bracket and the head? I held my bracket up to the water pump and there is about an inch or so gap. BTW, this is going into a '56 panel truck ...I'll try to post a couple of pics, The nice yellow pic the BEFORE pic....then I decided to make "improvements"...so it's not been on the road in about 8 years...lol. oh well, at least no sbc will ever find a home in it, okay, how do you attach pics to a post...I clicked on insert image, but it wants a url address. I'm used to clicking on a browse button for attachments on this type forum...oh well, I have a pic journal at hotrodders.com if interested...nuthin' special...

As soon as the sun comes up here , I will take another look to see how the bracket fastens to the head since it is an original 460 setup. Those brackets look the same untill you try to put one on an engine it was not for. As far as posting a picture I can't remember how. Thats the reason I told you to look in my album where I have some posted. I post pictures all the time on the H.A.M.B and the ford falcon site without any problems. But when I first posted you a comment I started to put up some pictures and was unable to find a place to do it. So ,maybe somebody will help both of us with that problem .
To post a picture, you can go to a place such as http://www.imageshack.com and upload it there. It'll give you a link to your picture, and you can then use that to post the picture here.
O.k. hwyhogg, the air cond.comp. mounts goes on first , then the power steering pump bracket. That fills up the space you were asking about. If you are not going to use the air untill later and don't want the mount bolted on , just make a spacer , or a stack of washers to fill in the space . Oh, before I forget again, wellcome to F.T.E. the best place to find out all about the ford trucks.
