IAT Sensor MOD pro/cons

I don't mean to sound mean, but this mod is lame. It proposes that it tricks the computer into thinking that the intake temp is cooler than it is(which it does for a short period of time). In the instructions it says that you must disconnect the battery and reconnect it to see any gains. You may see a short time gain, but long term you are going to yield the same results as before the mod. I fell for this "mod" with my Expedition when it was new. I think it is like a 10k resistor that they put heat shrink over so you can't tell you paid $10 to a $.10 resistor. If you have extra coin-just send it to me or sponsor this site. Don't waste it on this mod.

In cruise mode, just breezing along on level terrain at a relatively constant speed (90% of the time??) the MAF/IAT signals are NOT even used, at those times the upstream oxygen sensor is used EXCLUSIVELY for controlling the A/F mixture.
In fact it is during those times that the MAF/IAT signals are calibrated, corrected, in accordance with the oxygen sensor signal. So unless your resistor modification is only in the feedback loop during acceleration its affect will quickly be nulled out.
