Modern car electronics are a wonderful thing, but they have not developed the technology to the point where it can keep a talented idiot from doing something spectacular.

there was fluid... yellow all around her seating area if you get my drift.

And it saved my life in a bad accident. Never would have made it to my 18th birthday had I been driving my previous vehicle.
I think I might trust a smart car to be safer than a neon. My sister used to drive one and it was rated 2 stars for side impact when it was released. I think if you look it up now it is 3 for the same year.
Gotta love the fact we have the one of the top 10 most dangerous vehicles on the road eh? Consumer reports says were one of the safest but the other vehicle is going to get it bad.
You mean to tell me you don't own a cell phone that has a camera feature? I really wanted to see some pics on this.
i use pre-pay phone no camera no text no e-mail no BS and the government cant track it and i toss it every month. and get me a new number and thats the way i like it.
Every vehicle has it's ups and downs. I was following a friend to his house (he has a audi a4 quatro) I was in my new 01 F-350 SD 4x4 (just bought it 2 weaks ago). He is flying around the curves, and I come to the first curve at the speed I normally used in my 96 f-150 4x4, but I had to slow way down to prevent a rollover.
Last year when on my motorcycle, some idiot pushed me off the road. If I was in anyother vehicle I would have hit the telephone pole and come to a sudden stop from 45mph. But because I was on my motorcycle I was able to swerve (faster than any car I have driven) and jump the driveway and come to a safe stop on the sidewalk.
I have been in several accidents with a range of vehicles that have shown me there are good and bad sides to all.
The best accident I have been in was my old 90 f150, a drunk pulled out and hooked the left side of my bumper, bending it back a few inches. His RF fender was cut in half and removed alon with the whole front end of his car. I ended up getting $600.00 to replace my bumper. Ended up just backing into a light pole and pocketing the money
As a paramedic/firefighter in my full time job and an ER Nurse in my part time job, i can honestly say that you will NEVER cure stupidity! it pays my bills, with that said, some of the worst wrecks i have ever worked/seen/taken care the victims have either been smaller cars or mini vans. i have seen too many kids killed b/c their parents were not smart enough to enforce keeping their kind in the proper seats and their seat belts on. I have also worked a smart-car wreck where it rear ended a dodge 3500 dually. it is a great thing that the truck did not have a ball in his hitch cause it would have killed the lady driving it. the dodge drug the smart car almost a block before he knew he had been hit. so yes each car has its ups and downs but IMHO yes bigger is better.
Yup! There are plenty of circumstances where having more weight gives you an advantage in a wreck.
I just have to point out that this isn't always the case, that's all. Many people insist that they are safer in every type of collision with more weight around you, which isn't always true!
Here is a video of Smart crashing concrete wall at 70 mph.
Although survival is pretty questionable - the passenger compartment holding the shape and doors that still open are pretty impressive. Doubt any superduty will do that. YouTube - smart car crash
And here is compassion of cargo hauling between Smart and Hummer
