IN-VEHICLE REPAIR
<HR>Oil Filter Adapter —4x4

- Remove the front drive axle assembly; refer to Section 205-03 .
- Remove the LH engine mount; refer to Engine Mounts in this section.
- Drain the engine oil and remove the oil bypass filter.
- Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03 .
- Disconnect the oil pressure sender electrical connector.
- Remove the oil pressure sender.
- Slide back the hose clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose from the oil filter adapter.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the rear nut and the oil filter adapter and discard the gasket.
- NOTE: Clean and inspect the mating surfaces and install new gaskets.
Position the oil filter adapter and install the rear nut.
- Install the four front bolts.
- Position the lower radiator hose on the oil filter adapter and install the clamp.
- Install the oil pressure sender.
- Connect the oil pressure sender electrical connector.
- Install the oil bypass filter.
- Install the LH engine mount; refer to Engine Mounts in this section.
- Install the front drive axle assembly; refer to Section 205-03 .
- Fill the engine with Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03 .
