power steering pump

I have a 97 ford diesel f350 with a 7.3 power stroke i am tring to change the power steering pump cant get the pulley off what am i doing wrong please help!!!

Need a special puller. Someone will chime in soon w/ part # etc... Had to do the same w/ wife's Taurus. Got it from the parts store loaner program.

i dont think its a specail part. just a normal pump pully puller from the local auto parts store.

You need to get a pulley puller. Usually the local parts stores will let you rent the tool for free.

If its what I am remembering right, you will not only need the pulley puller to get the pulley off the old pump, but to get it onto the new pump without damaging bearings!
