Straight book time is 7.7 hrs. I doubt they will warranty the work if you supply the parts.

I doubt you will find a shop that will do the job at a reasonable rate with you supplying your own parts unless you have a friend with a shop.
The link below is a DIY (how to) write up, just DIY.

i know i looked around at the job but if it was my toy truck i would be doing that but its my every day ride and if something turns for the bad i cant go with out it for long. i almost changed the plugs myself and i did not, then 4 of the 8 broke off but it was at a shop that had the tools for the job and time to fix it for me. i dont have a car port or anything what i do i do outside. i hate it, im getting a tent style carport soon (but for the mustang)

Most dealerships in my area charge over $120 per hour. An independent shop charges $60-$80 per hour for labor.

when changing them you have to use a wedge to keep the timing chain set, if it slips it is due to the person with the tool in hand. my ? is if they dont do that step right they have to tear down the front of the motor to retime it, would a shop charge more if they do something wrong and add a couple of hours to the bill (dealer vs local shop)

A reputable shop or dealer that is honest and operates with integrity wouldn't charge you more if they made a mistake. They would just eat the additional cost. But a shop that operates that way is getting harder and harder to find these days. There are a few in my area of northern Indiana, but very few. Those are the ones I do business with and recommend to others. You'll just need to ask around in your area if there are shops that do business that way.

Good point and you cant fiddle around with these guys either. Ask them very politely if they cover their mistakes in the price that was quoted. Make no assumptions, everyone is hungry these days.

Where did you find the Phasers online? How much? I want to buy, local dealer wants 190 per side for the phasers I believe.

Geeze those things are expensive! 340 for both sides. I should save up and do mine. Just take it like a man I guess. Oh well my noisy ones should make it to MI and back a few times i think.
