Go put some miles on a diesel in a harsh dusty environment, get a dirty air filter once. There is a guage on the filter housing that tells you when your air filter is not flowing properly, and I can tell you when it's half way to needing reset. I take it you don't drive diesel's much. Maybe you should check on out before you "rough me up".

So Peter94, I guess were just destined to disagree. I'm gonna keep from getting personal. You want all the nannies on your rig, good for you. I don't, in fact I think they suck and it pisses me off that the gov't can keep getting deeper into our lives. To each his own. That's my opinion. You ain't gonna change it.

Has nothing to do with being a diesel. My air filter will pick up the same garbage as yours would in the same environment. Not like diesels just have some dust magnet on them that makes the air filters get clogged faster. Why would you say I dont drive diesels much? What are you basing that on?

I've seen plenty of vehicles with that air filter gauge on them. Of course if your air filter is clogged to the point where it moves that gauge, then there is some sort of restriction and it might be entirely possible you would feel a decrease in performance. All I said is that If you changed your air filter you wouldn't have that problem. But what do I know, I'm not good enough to drive a diesel I guess.

I'm not out to change your opinion either. I just dont want all the people reading this thread to think that TPMS is the mark of the devil, and that anytime their truck feels low on power it must be time for a new air filter.

Dude, I don't care if you drive a diesel or not. What I'm saying is that when my filter guage is half down, I can feel a power difference. If you want TPMS on your truck, fine with me. You do whatever you want, makes not a difference to me. What I don't like is the gov't shoving it down my throat. Why is it not an option? All of us have to pay for the technology, want or need it or not. Or if we have to have it, at least give us a way to turn it off. Now I get to drive around with a light on on my dash, and if I want to change wheels it's just another expense and pain in the ***. As far as changing my air filter, it gets changed every 5,000 miles with the oil. The environment I work it in does plug it up (ocasionally) before it gets changed. I don't leave it in until I feel a loss of power. Anyway, I'm done. Sorry I posted my opinion, and get to hear all this crap from you. Last post, thanks for making my stay so enjoyable.

I agree with Mustangtoby 100%. I resent the government shoving this crap down our throats to pacify a few lazy folks who won't learn what their vehicle is supposed to feel like and look like or folks who are to lazy to learn. Any race driver can tell what their vehicle is doing and whether tire pressure is right. I don't need to feel a pull to know when a tire is low. I can tell by how things feel going around a corner or curve. I deeply resent having to pay more in purchase price and maintenence because of the lazy ones who don't or won't take personal responsibilty for their actions or lack thereof. As far as the Sploders and the roll over accidents, every one was caused by lack of maintenance (laziness) and not reacting properly to the situation (either ignorance, stupidity, or panic). It's just like the idiots who try to merge onto a limited access highway with traffic going 65-70 mph doing 45 mpg (that's about 90% of drivers). They are dangerous and a menace to society, or at least the motoring public. And until the aftermarket makes a way for me to get rid of the big brother crap I don't need or want, my 06 will do nicely thank you. If one is too lazy or stupid to check tire pressure and do a visual inspection of their vehicle weekly and know what that vehicle is supposed to do, then they should not even be allowed to have a driver's license or a vehicle, period. End of story. If I can teach my daughters that, then anyone can learn it.

Wow, sorry guys I didn't realize I was stirring the pot so much. I will agree with you about the government forcing things on us. I dont think anyone likes that. I dont. If this was on gun laws or something it would bother me much much more, however since TPMS is an option I would probably pay extra for anyway it is less of an issue for me.

Hey Mustangboy, you're always welcome here. I didn't realize I was getting under your skin so much. I apologize for that.

GregB, if only people would listen things would be so much easier. If you could tell someone to check their tire pressure weekly and actually have them do it, I dont think this thread would even exist. However since people are dumb enough to drink and drive, get caught, lose their license, pay alot of fines, and then do it all over again, I doubt we will have any luck soon with the TPMS.

Heck, no TPMS is fun anyway. Makes my job more interesting when someone comes in with a tire all chewed up (sometimes even the rim is damaged beyond repair) and you get to sell them a new tire and just laugh inside at them.

Anyway, take care guys.

Peter94, sorry I got so hot. I've cooled down now. My screen name is mustangtoby, not boy, and I thought you were calling me "boy". I understand how easy it would be to misread it. No harm, no foul. At least we can agree to disagree? We've all got opinions, and these forums are here for us to post them. I don't like TPMS, you do. I do wish it was an option, 'cause I would not have it. That is what makes me so mad, my PSD cannot be turned off, so I'm stuck with it. I am thankful that my F150 doesn't have it. And I will concede the fact that there are people out there who do need it, and I'm sure it will save some people some headaches. But once again, it I have a choice...
Anyway, look forward to disagreeing with you in the future! (joking, of course!)

Hey guys, this jousting was fun. I wasn't offended or ticked, but I was and am adament on my views of big brother. And don't even get me started on the Second Amendment. I am just as pro second amendment as I am anti big brother electronic gadgets on vehicles. We'll have to disagree again sometime.

GregB,

Yeah, we'd probably have no disagreement on 2A. Take my guns away and it is a sad day. I wont even consider living in WI, IL, etc..

Mustangtoby,

Dang, I did type your name wrong 2 times without even realizing it. Sorry about that, it was not intended. Mustangboy does sound kinda catchy though...

Gregg you need to come over to the club. You can get started on the 2nd, The 18th and the 19th or any other of the changes that have been made to the Constitution.
