It will probably take me just as long to figure out a mounting location as it did to pull the trigger to buy the DashDaq. I have an idea where I want it but its hard to say without having to new "toy" in my hand.
I am a little bumed to hear that FICM voltage cant be seen on it Mark. Thanks for ruining my good mood this a.m.
The cord connection placement stinks and you can't monitor FICM voltage. These are my only two DashDAQ complaints. I have sort of worked my way around the cord issues.
Mark,
Would it be possible to post a picture of the cord placment? I am thinking about getting a Dash Daq, and I am curious about the cord placment.
You are putting me in a pinch ......................
I have not done the final cord routing yet. I plan on running it from the OBD port, up behind the dash panel and out the top of the dash at a seam. I will need to drill a small hole at the seam just behind where I have the DashDAQ mounted. It should be unobtrusive.
I just have not had the energy to do it yet.
I was also thinking about running the cord up under the dash and over to the drivers side pillar. I would probably need to drill a hole in the side of the platic pillar (at the bottom) and then lay the rest of the cord on top of the dash over to the unit. I just did not like the idea of always seeing the cord on the dash.
I promised someone pictures awhile ago, but I just have been lazy ..........

in my minds eye this was the only way i could see that would hide the cord when mounting the dd using the proclip mount. i'm sure it will look nice when finished. personally i would rather not drill a hole in the dash.
i am going to try something different. i've looked at the dash pods for edge products and it seems you could easily modify one to hold the DD by fabricating a bracket. another option i am considering is an A pillar mount designed to hold edge products.
still not ready to shell out the cash for a DD yet, but soon hopefully....
Saw where someone used an 18301 (or other specific to your MY) and a 98003 (CTS Dash Pod Adaptor Kit) looked like it might work. Someone else stated with a little mod the DD would fit into the Edge Dash Mount without the 98003.

something along those lines. the CTS and DD have very similar dimensions. another option may be a partial a pillar single 2 1/16 gauge mount. there is an adapter that fits into the gauge mount that connects to the back of a monitor. the dash pod may offer a cleaner look though.
thanks for the input, glad to hear others have tried with success.

That's cool. Does the cord connect out the back, or does it plug in the side? Is it a custom conector?
