what do the cores look like that you take out??
is it usually a simple split in a seam, or kind of a soft spot near a seam that gave way....

Ok so i am having the same problem with my truck 95 F150 straight 6 300, since the spring of this year i have gone through i think four as in the fourth one started leaking last night. could it be a problem with the thermostat ( i replaced that at approx. 84000, now at 154xxx, and 6 years on current t-stat)? this electrical charge thing you guys are talking about doesnt make to much sense to me. the truck rarely overheats only when im driving slow in the hills when im hunting never on the highway or through town. i also noticed the posts about air/ pressure build up in the system, where would that come from possibly if the radiator cap is still the original from the factory would it allow air in? please help guys im at a loss with this after doing 4 heater cores this year and now its winter...
