Last couple of days, getting an occasional flashing Over Drive light. It seems to reset each time engine is shut off. No other apparent shifting issues. Fluid level is OK.
I cannot see any codes stored in the ECU. I could force it to come on at will with a hard acceleration across the 1-2 upshift point.
I know it is ready for a fluid change again, slight discoloration. Fluid and filter changed last at 100K.
on my 95 it sent a code but it was a generic code took many tests to determine what the problem was-I finally got it figured out was my shift pack
yours could be a much different problem depends on what ya find doing the tests
Guess it dosen't really matter anyway.
Changed the trans fluid (all 14 quarts of it), cleared the ECU system and haven't seen any more from it for a week now.

My OD light has been flashing lately too. I've never changed the fluid, so I know it's time to (76,000 mi.) but I haven't been able to find any info on how to do it. I assume the torque converter also needs to be emptied? If so, how do you empty that? Is there a tutorial on this?
There isn't a drain plug on the TC so only way to get it all is to take it somewhere they have a machine to exchange the fluid.
Generally they tap into the upper cooling line at the radiator, start the engine, drain the old into a reservoir on the machine, and pump in the new at the same time.
If you decide to go this route, I suggest adding a pint/quart of Trans-X about a week before the exchange. The Trans-x will remove the varnish residues and condition the seals. Drive it for the week with the Trans-X in the system, then do the exchange. This is some good stuff and I have been using it on balky transmissions for nearly 30 years.
Be aware it has some Benzene in it, so keep it off painted surfaces and wash your hands good after handeling it.
