Got em on my 5.0. No probs so far after almost 18k miles on em. Noticed a slight gain in MPG, VERY minimal... Running 14/24 now. (Gotta get sold #'s to post for the EFan conversion, if anyone is wondering... I'll post up in a couple weeks.)
Not sure if they're worth it compared to Autolite stockers, though.
Plus 2 on the fact SBFs don't like "fancy" plugs-I put a set of split-fires in my 302 in my '78 when I rebuilt the engine-they were crap right from the start-I actually thought something was wrong with the engine until I swapped them out for Autolites!
^ I've NEVER liked platinum plugs. I used some in my Cavalier back in the day and that thing ran like s**t after 1000 miles!

There was actually some dyno testing done on them (against the Bosch plugs) that showed they reduced emissions and helped the engine make a hair more power.
I've heard of more people disliking these plugs than having good results with them. I, personally, haven't had a problem with them. The emissions results on my truck were amazing, though! Not sure if it's from the plugs or all of the TLC this F150 has seen. The limits were in the thousands, and my truck passed with 200's and 300's. I'll have to dig up the print out.
the 88 when i got it had NGK plugs in it. had a slight miss. but dont know how many miles on them. as soon as i put typical Motorcraft Coppers in it and it runs 952x's better.

Are you sure it isn't 951.8x better? I can't stand when people exaggerate, even if it's only two tenths....

I've never seen a higher mileage 5.0 with OUT the slight miss, FWIW.. Saw three of em just this weekend. Mine had a slight miss with the Autolites and still does with the diamond fires. Hot PIP I think.
