battery light stays on

Battery light in dash stays on most of the time. when pulling a trailer, light goes out. did a volt check on alternator and checks out fine.over 14.0 volts. There are no code error's or check engine light. help

Just because youre showing 14 volts doesent mean the alternator is good.Part of this output voltage could be AC,meaing a diode in the rectifier bridge is bad.I suggest cleaning the battery terminals,and if that doesent fix it,pull the alternator and have it checked.

i guess alternator also. how many miles? standard life of alternator is 120- 150 k miles. some more, some less.

Alternator.
Had pulled one out of a Neon, brought it to be tested, they said it was fine, put it back ,same thing light was on. Went to pick n pull, got an alternator for $13, put it in and the light went out.
