torqueshift issues
truck in signature. today my tranny started dropping out of gear while driving. basically feels like you are going then you put the tranny in neutral then drop it back in slamming it into gear. this is happening 2-3 times then it was acting fine. i havent changed the tuning any since september. after having the issues i changed to a towing program with the same results then returned to stock same deal. i then when driving home i guess ive lost 6th gear. havent had any issues till today. ive got 120ish on the truck. as i said earlier no codes via sct, 170-180 tranny temp (via gauge) no lights flashing, factory gauges reads normal tranny fluid looks clean and doesnt smell burnt. any body have any ideas?

It couldn't hurt as gearloose says...perform the torqshift and vgt relearns...and clear the capacitors memory....should take about 10 minutes...load test your batteries while you're at it and clean the terminals. Hope its nothing serious. When was the last tranny fluid change and external filter change?

You are over due by 10,000. Was the external filter changed and have you ever had the tranny flushed.

You didn't state how many miles are on the truck.

120k it shifts 1-2 3-5 hard going to 5th and no 6th gear. Also noticed a little bit of the reverse shutter. I'm thinking it going to be the solenoids from what I've read so far

unhooking batteries did absolutely nothing. noticed it shuddering in reverse which seems is another sighn for the solenoids. the tranny has worked flawlessly with zero issues till today. at this point bought the truck with 83k and dont know if the tranny was serviced i serviced the tranny and dont tow often so in my opinion the fluid is not much of a issue since it is clear and smells ok. flushing a high milage tranny is a bad idea. so i will change the fluid but flushing it is out of the question

I can get a 09 tq shft with 14k for $1600 or less. Pretty sure I can use the 6.4 flywheel and stock 6.4 converter. If I do have to replace/ rebuild ill go that route since it is improved over mine and cheaper than a built tranny. or a stock rebuild

I agree it's sounds like the solenoids... It's not a cheap fix!

I'm hoping for a cheap fix. From what I've seen $2500+ a t/c is cheap and closer to 5g's for a built panty dropper with a good converter. I doubt ill ever get bigger than maybe 190's and a 66mm turbo. I doubt ill do that. I'd love a faster truck. I just still want to use it. At this point I still need to install studs so if I built the tranny and studs then did a turbo and injectors I'd spend more than selling the truck and getting a 6.4 that would be faster and still usable. I really love the truck but in reality its glass and sheet metal.
