So what are all the mods you guys are doing to the turbos on our truck? What are the best ones to do.

 

It really depends on your intended use for the truck.
You want to tow a big trailer with it? Then IMO it's best to leave it stock or at the most a slightly larger exhaust housing. You want to build boost early and keep it there so that a lot of air goes through the engine and keeps the EGT down.
Want to put huge injectors in and run it at 3000+ rpm? Then you need a larger turbo.

Bottom line, tell us your intentions with the truck, then you will get a better answer.

 

A lot of us just replace them like Dan said. I went to a TN BB turbo, but you can't get them anymore, so the 38R is popular now.

 

Go with a 38R and be done with it
