i was driving home thursday night and stopped and a truck stop... at the fr corner of the gravel lot there were a few big puddles so i went bombing through them... 5 min later as i was driving, my truck beeped at me and said "Trans Fault"... i instantly pulled over (dead side road) and looked under the truck thinking i may have crack the pan and lost all my fluid... nope... popped the hood and checked the fluid incase water was in it somehow... once again no.... i shut the truck off thinking maybe something just glitched (i was guessing) the truck started fine, shifted fine between gears them "beep" again.... i decided to just try and limp the truck home as i wasnt far, and everyhting was fine... no weird noise, shifted as usual... "Trans Fault" even cleared out and everything on the dash was normal again....
now when i got up this morning to go to work.. truck fired up fine then just as i put it into reverse... "beep" trans fault again... didnt have time to stop so i started driving... as soon as the truck was warmed up (cold morning) "trans fault" went away....
now my in-laws boyfriend called a friend who does tranny's... he said that one of the tranny sensors on the side got wet, and is toast... if i leave it its gonna cause big problems to the tranny (bad shifts, overheating, eventually the "big bang")... im gonna get this guy to run hthe truck for codes, see if that sensor comes up...
wondering if 1) anyone else has had this problem come up... 2) what they did/were told to do and 3) does this mean that i cant drive in the rain or anything? this sounds kinda dumb to me?
sorry for the long post... just stressin' over this...
my 07 has had that pop up and i just cut it off and start it back and it goes away. mine did it like 4 times when i pulled out of my driveway over about 3 weeks time but has not done it in a long time. i would not worry i think mine is something like water in connector or loose wire and i will never find it untill it truly fails.
had aamco check it out.... code came up "overheated" bu the guy said i probably just got it wet... it stopped going off last nght, didnt go off at all today... if it does im gonna replace the sensor... supposedly not hard...
as for the stealth... had plans of going completely black with some mods... but plans have changed... might go with a stang next lol
