My wife and I just aquired a 1966 F100, short bed,3 on the tree, 352 engine. Looks to be all original except for the dual exhaust and the chrome wheels( would like to find a set of original steel wheels!) I am sure I will have more questions, the one I have today is concerning the push button switch just above the ignition switch, what is it for?
Welcome baracade. I just joined FTE yesterday myself. Keep an eye on my posts as well as I will likely asking some of the same questions you are wanting to know about...and visa versa. I have a 65 Shortbed.

Hi baracade, I'm new here myself. Welcome. I think I read it's for the windshield washer pump motor. Could be wrong but someone will chime in if I am.
The push button was used for your windshield wipers to use the spray. That is what I understood from many of the posts I have read already. If you use the search option you will find a lot more things then you can read. You have found probably the best forum for your truck as I did. Good luck and this site loves Pictures so post them if you can.
Thanks for the info! Now that I think about it, when I push the button it does sound like a washer pump! I will try to post a pic as soon as I figure out how to do it!

With electric w/shield washers, with dash mounted washer switch, or washer switch combined with the wiper switch:
The washer pump is mounted on the left fender inner apron and is the same as used on some passenger cars.
1961/67: Ford also offered two other types of w/shield washers:
1) Electric, activated by a foot pedal mounted on the firewall.
2) Manual (not electric), activated by a foot pedal mounted on the firewall. You have to pump this pedal to operate the washers.
Y'all remember the Slot Car craze of the 1960's? Some of us used the C1AZ17664C washer pump for the motor. The cars were the fastest ones on the tracks!

NumberDummy- I may have to look again but I could have sworn mine came with the push button on the dash and the push button on the floor. Why would it have both for the same thing? Is that right?

The push button on the toe board is for the dimmer switch.
The two types of firewall mounted w/shield washers had foot operated pedals. The pedal hung down from the firewall, just above the dimmer switch.
Back then, some clueless customers complained, because they thought the pedal was used to engage/release the emergency (parking) brake, but when they pressed on it, nothing happened.
For very good good reason, since the emergency brake is manually operated by a T handle used to engage/release it.
an just found it today I needed to find it because it up for rego an thought it's got to be here some were y didn't there put a plate with names on this thing's I have three other relay switchers that I have no idea what there for there are flick up an down when I bought it the guy didn't no ether because it was his past away brothers truck can one tell me one of them clicks on a fuse box under the hood but nothing happen I will show you the dash when I picture two are on drive side of wheel the other is under the washer near fold on dash round mite need to take it to auto eley
It is the window washer switch...plain black button...that type is used on 65 trucks...I bet under the hood theres 3 cowl access plates retained by 2 screws diagonally...gas pedal is prolly bolted to the floor too vs suspended like later 66 trucks were...these truck could have had 1 or all three of these setups as these are leftover 65 cabs..if your gas pedal is suspended...look under the cab near where your heel sits when driving...I bet there is 2 cage nuts there about 1 1/2" apart...
The 66 trucks as designed did have the pull for wash type window washer switch as Bill mentioned...yours just has one that used a leftover 65 cab it sounds like.

I couldn't find a washer motor so I used the one off the wiper. Problem was my car would only go forward, back, ....forward, back
