You are right the trucks hold up, but as found out with like the 6.0 the motor are not. I would like one that the motor is blowed up and buy an 7.3 diesel and drop it in the new body style. Maybe port n polish heads, a tow cam, and a twin turbo add on.
Through my research, I am convinced that the 6.7 will truly deliver the goods. 735ft/lbs at the motor is pretty impressive for a production vehicle, better fuel effeciency and lighter weight to boot... The ford engineers have not really compramised alot. The single sequential turbo for instance, has less plumbing then ive ever seen. Six head bolts per cylinder, 16.5:1 compression, and fuel pressure approaching 30,000 psi. As one of you said, the cost of these trucks is not unlike taking on a new mortgage. So I definately had to convince myself that it was worth it. Ill be sure to keep you all updated on my findngs. Ill post a review and go get it stuck probably in the first week of having it. I cant wait to try out all the features. Trailer sway control, exhaust brakeing, hill start assist, hill decent control, E-locking rear diff, and that damn productivity screen is bound to make me crash. Im gonna be so gadget happy, how can I watch the road. Also Ive been in touch with Ranc Hand truck assesories over the past few months. They are experiencing the same delays in getting there 2011 but the were hopeful to have products out this summer. Another thought I had was to run either a 220/110v generator off the PTO drive and plum it into the bed. But Then I thought, what if I ran a hydraulic pump and ran a front and back hydraulic winches... What are your thoughts?
My 1st post. Always been a big Ford Truck man. Purchased and leased many. Just wanted to say I picked up my 2011 Ford F350 SRW Super Duty Reg Cab, 4X4, gasser, in Tuxedo Black today. Ordered truck Feb 10/10, was told at beginning of March that truck would be built week of Mar 15., and to expect delivery of it at end of March begining of April. Truck arrived late afternoon Friday April 23rd. Drove it Sat, 24th, closed deal Mon 26th and drove it home. I am in Canada, Ottawa, Ontario. Anyway I just love the truck and it drove me crazy waiting. Thank you to all who provided info on the new 2011 Super Duty, you kept me hanging on while I waited for mine. For those of you still waiting for yours to arrive --- I'm glad I'm no-longer one of you!!!! Just jok'in boys, hang-in there and keep looking at this forum each day you find you're "having trouble".
Thats great news, glad to hear I'm not the only one with that EXACT story. Thanks for the update and enjoy the new ride. I just got word this morning that mine has made it by rail to a town exactly one hour from here. So im hopeful, but if this is anything like the experience so far, could be another week before I see it LOL. I feel bad for my poor sales man, money out of his pocket and he has no control. Nice guy
I had a peak at an online Q&A with the super duty head engineer Chris Brewer. One question I had particular interest in was asking about the production delays, which I've experienced... Chris says that the delays in assembly were from lack of parts. Which is a relief.
(by the way my truck is here I'll drive it home tomorrow)
Ill post an address for a video tour of the new king when I get it up on youTube.

i'm still impressed that ford produced a diesel that makes over 700ft/lbs of torque without being tuned even close to its potential. That is the makings for a super reliable engine and a testament to the durability and faith ford has in its work truck beginnings. I can't wait to see how the new 6.7 has been reviewed after a year of use
Took delivery on friday 4-30-10. Still working on getting the video up. But Im overwhelmed with new truck emotion. Lol people were hanging out there windows on the freeway taking pictures. And I second the motion that leaving the motor de-tuned is best. The 6.0 was tuned hot to compete with the other guys, I have a friend that has had the cab off his 08 three times. Which is another huge advantage to the 2011. All maintainence can be done without removing the cab.
I havnt towed anything yet but im gonna put my buddies 34' fountain behind her and see how it goes. I did get a chance to play in some ruts on a back road. That E-locking rear end is where its at. well worth the extra bucks.

That sounds like an amazing deal. Does that include the discount for shipping delay?
The fo.mo.co. gave me $1500 "factory cash" for it being late. The dealer ended up eating $1500, because they gave me a delivery date and I made plans around it. It cost me money to drive a focus and not be able to move material. After about two weeks with no truck, the dealer agreed to give me $500off every week till the truck arrived. It arived three week later so $1500... I did agree to sign a $2K service plan to throw em a bone. So before taxes I had em down to 60,900 minus 3k for being late plus taxes and fees and it was 61,125 round abouts
Has anyone had experience with factory service plans? Just want to get a feel for weather they are cost effective...
Anyway you cant win with these guys, as soon as I sat down to sign they hit me with 6.99% over 5 years. I asked for 0% and a shorter term, even offered a larger down payment, but no. Had I paid sticker price of nearly 70k with fees Im sure I could have gotten 0%.
I'll refinance with my bank in a year or so, should have gone to them in the first place...Might even put more down to save on the interest. rookie mistakes.
Still working on gettin my videos up on youTube hang in there. Not that there arent enough as it is

I have bought thru the dealer and then switched to my credit union in the first couple weeks for a better deal.
