Small Coolant Leak

I did some quick searching and didn't turn up anything really relative so I'll ask here. Is it common for the heater pipe (hose) that runs along the firewall to: a: interfere with the waste gate arm to the point where the WG arm wears a hole in the pipe? And b: It looks like a real PITA to replace. Who carries this pipe besides the dealer? Sorry, no pics yet. And the drip is real small. It'll drop onto the trans dipstick tube, run down and onto the hot exhaust, then cross member, then dot on the floor. Only does it after shutdown (when the most pressure builds). Really made me nervous at first because the coolant is the same color as the ATF and by the time it hits the floor, it doesn't smell like coolant anymore - thought I had a trans leak!

It might not be exactly what you want, but my camaro had a similar problem. The hose went bad at the core. I wouldn't worry about getting a hose from a dealer. Napa should have something that would work. Just take it to them and they'll hook you up for a lot less than the dealer.

And it only looks intimidating. Its a easy job, the hardest part being getting the darn thing off.

I have a diesel so dont know if yours is leaking in the same place. I have had this heater hose along the back leak. Mine actually is still leaking a little bit because it needs to be removed and have some Teflon tape placed on the fitting, but a simple tightening by hand every couple days has done the trick for me. But like you its really annoying. I actually thought at first I had cracked the block when I saw mine leak cause it would run down the headers. But looking at it will be one of those crappy jobs to change.

Here's an update:

Pulled one side of the coolant pipe off and maneuvered it over the WG actuator arm. Cleaned it up and welded the hole. Here's a pic to reference. The hole is circled in red.

I also bent the tube a slight bit so it wont hit the arm anymore. Not sure if this is a common issue or not; thought FTE would like to know.
