Hello, I am new to the board but visited many times in the past. I was reading on the F250/350 section about installing the DRL's on those models... here is my question pertaining to the 2000 Excurison
I just bought a 2000 V10 Excursion from USA and bringing it to Canada. It requires DRL's
I have researched a bunch but have not found "plug & Play" components specfic for 2000 models anywhere?
Do items such as the DRL Relay: 2C3Z-13B218-AA and
DRL Resistor: 6C3Z-14A601-A that are used in the 2002 model 250's exist for the 2000 model Excursion?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Chris

Reason: wrong year in title
Nice! I brought mine up from the Winter Haven area (southwest of Orlando).
The way I did it was I spliced a wire into the ignition under the steering column and ran the wire into the back of the headlight harness. So as soon as the key was in position 2, lights were on.
I believe the more permanent solution requires going to the dealer...
Ok, yes, hotwiring the lights so to speak, that makes sense. That would do in the short term for sure, thanks!
Anyone else with info on the permanent fix for the 2000 Exc please post.
I am picking the truck up Tuesday. I have a few weeks after that as I have to wait 10 days after crossing the border for the Canadian RIV Gov't form to arrive before I can get the Federal Check-up.
I went to the dealer when I brought mine up from Idaho. Ended up being $400. If I would have known it would be that much, I would have looked into doing it temporarily myself. As it is, I pulled the fuse after the inspection. The truck looks way cooler with just the fogs and running lights on.

Couldn't agree more on the look, that's why I did the temporary thing. Also, I wanted to put in HIDs (and have) and it can be a nightmare to get around DRL wiring with them. Now I have Yellow HIDs in the fogs and brilliant white HIDs in the low beams.
I don't plan on HID's but I would like to MOD the lights so that the fogs and highbeams stay on when the highbeams are on. I found a thread for it but haven't done it yet.
