I came across an old FOMOCO headlight that was in a 1943 Ford GPW. It has 3 terminals so I assume it's a high/low beam light. It has the Westinghouse trademark W on it, so I assume it was made by them for Ford. the GPW has the motor and wiring harness missing so I am not sure it it's a 6v or a 12V light.
Would any of the coded markings on the bulb indicate 6V or 12V?
With the popularity of converting a 6V to a 12V over the years, I don't know how the GPW currently wired.
Then measure its resistance, find another resistor or light bulb that's the same (regardless of its voltage - it could be a 110VAC bulb or a flashlight bulb, but not less than 6V) and wire them in series so the old one gets 1/2 the supplied voltage, i.e., 6V.
