>Could you guys please share your experience with differences between the Motorcraft (O.E.) Spark Plug Wire Set (Part No. WR4109), and the Autolite “Professional” Ignition Wire Set (Part No. 96844) which is sold at some auto part stores?I ask because although the specs on both parts seem to be the same, since I first took off the original wires on my 1998 2.5L Ranger at about 80K miles, the replacements have not lasted me much more than a year before they start giving me sputtering issues. Granted, the car has gotten older, but still doesn't burn any oil, has proper cylinder compression, etc. So I m thinking about paying the premium to go back to Motorcraft, but wanted to know your thoughts.

But I know the Motorcraft brand has a good reputation, is designed for the double work load our "waste spark"ignition system puts them through & are the right impedance match for our coilpack & specified double platinum spark plugs, so the ignition system is in good electrical tune!!!!
Have you done any ignition system trouble shooting, to determine what the problem is, thats causing the returning "sputterng"????
Are the plug wires breaking down & arcing & sparking to the engine block????
Or is their internal resistance out of spec????
Or is it a plug problem???
Are you using the specified heat range & impedance Motorcraft plugs, gaped to spec????
Or maybe it's a combination of mismatch between ignition system components, if your not using OEM spec ignition system parts ????
