460 woes
I have a 460 and can not get it to idle for the life of me. I think it's getting so much gas it's extinguishing the spark. I think so because, when I pull the plugs, they have **** on it and are moist from fuel.I have the stock ignition with a 750 cfm carb which has bigger jets and so forth. I have a 254/264 @.050 duration cam. 2.25/1.76 valves. A friend said with that size cam a lot of fuel is making it in the cylinders and I need a multiple spark and hotter spark to burn all the fuel.He said a MSD should fix my problem. I have adjustable valves and there are fairly adjusted. Any help would be greatly aprreciated. Thanks....

Does it have a choke?
Is it opening all the way?
Is the float or floats sticking? Or something in the needle valve holding it open?
What size jets do you have?
Give us a little more info on the carburetor.
Do you have a 1411 electric choke or a 1407 manual choke?
Each of these have different metering rods and jets for the factory setting, on the primary side.
These have metering rods and jets and step up springs to mess with, to tune one.
