Rear bulb, 3157, tail light, stop light, and turn signal.
Why would the tail light and stop light portions work, while the turn signal doesn't?
Does the turn signal work up front for that side? If so, get a test light and make sure it is flashing when you probe the turn signal terminal in the socket.
The turn signal/flasher malfunctioning should have no impact on the brake light functioning properly. I am sure this is a stupid statement and I don't mean to insult you but I assume you have already replaced the bulb(s). If so, is the problem with both the left and right turn signals? If yes then probably the first thing to try is the flasher. If that doesn't do the trick then you might need to check out the turn signal arm. Just my 2 cents.
This was just one of those things that didn't seem to work like the old days. Namely, if the turn signal portion of the bulb went bad a decade ago, the turn signal indicator light in the dashboard would light up and stay lit. It didn't.
After putting in a new bulb, the turn signal still didn't work. But the turn signal indicator light on the dashboard was flashing like normal.
So I replaced the flasher next and this seemed to solve the problem. So far.
