is the seal a 2 piece or 1 piece and once the trans is out what is involved? im use to 1 pc rear mains on my formula and S truck. when ever that seal starts leaking i tell folks to get a sleeve kit just in case the rear main has a groove in the crank. a lil RTV and it slips on and pop the new seal in and put the rest back together.
if the ford is anything like this then it'll be a snap.
when your transmission (someday far far far from now) goes out i will have already done all the research for ya! this time i'm AHEAD of you on a project!
When I clean the engine bay in any of my vehicles, I use Westley's Bleach White. I find that it works wonders. Warm the engine first, then spray on Westley's Bleach White. Let it soak in for a few minutes, and wash off with the hose. Or, you could use the car wash high power sprayer to wash off the Bleach White. Try it, once you use it, you'll love it.
This is NOT "Pink Stuff", This is "Incredible Pink"... Two different products, Pink Stuff is water compared to Incredible Pink!
Try it, you'll like it, you'll never know how you cleaned anything without it.
WARNING!!! DO NOT ALLOW IT TO DRY!!!!!!
I use it in a Yard sprayer FULL strength, use before water wetting, soak it down good, keep it soaked and the grim will just run away, Thick grim may need a little disturbing to allow it to soak in, once the grim is all loose water rinse THROUGHLY!!!
You will be surprised!
And the cool part, It's non-toxic, biodegradable, non-flammable.
But unfortunatly my transmission has been acting up. I fear the worst is bound to happen in the future.
Mine is too.But it might just be low on fluid.I haven't moved it in awhile,so I've neglected to check it every so often.I still need to replace my lines.
