Clean Maintained Survivor

Here is a 1978 F150 Ranger XLT 4x4 Inline 300.
The story goes that a Student at OSU bought the truck new but then couldn't afford it so he sold it to his professor in 78. He then owned the truck till 95 when he passed away and then his son took ownership of the truck. So essentially a one owner car. It was repainted the original color around 8 years ago. The motor has 90,670 miles. I have a ton of receipts that came in the truck and some go back to 84. I can track the mileage through all the shops writing down the mileage.

2-28-85 63,514
11-21-88 75,461
3-24-92 79,052
6-11-93 79,848 Water pump
12-27-96 82,503 New Mirrors/Tires
11-26-97 85,704
7-13-96 Fuel Tank
4-11-99 new master cylinder and brake lines
5-6-08 Fuel Pump, fuel line, sending unit

Seems like the family took it to a shop for about everything it ever needed and was never messed with by different owners. When I looked at it the first time they didn't want me to test drive it because of the salt on the road. Always garaged.
Here's some pictures

The seat cover was put on just to protect the seat which is in mint condition.

IMO while it may look nice it ain't no survivor. A survivor to me would be factory correct with OE paint. Those mirrors are not stock.

Whatever you want to call it, it appears to be a real nice truck.

Neat find.

The one thing the truck did need was a new exhaust manifold. I just got off the intake and manifold without much problem at all surprisingly.

Nice truck. And what a great find. Enjoy it and take care of it. I know I would. And I'm sure you will too. However the first thing I'd do is replace those aftermarket mirrors. But that's my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
